The working visit made by the delegation of Lao National Assembly (NA) to Vietnam will contribute to enhancing the relations between the legislative bodies of the two countries.
NA Vice Chairman Phung Quoc Hien made the statement at areception in Hanoi on August 1 for the Lao NA delegation, ledby President of its Planning, Finance and Audit CommitteeVilayvong Boutdakham, as part of their official visit to Vietnam from July 27 to August 3.
Speaking at the reception, the Vietnamese NA Vice Chairman congratulated Laos on its significant achievements over the past years.
He expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the country will gain more successes in the implementation of the resolution adopted by thetenth National Party Congress and the five-year socio-economic development plan for the 2016-2020 period.
NA Vice Chairman Hien was pleased to inform the guests of Vietnam’s outstanding achievements over recent years, including economic growth of 7.08% in 2018 and 6.76% in the first six months of this year.
He also said that Vietnamese NA’s role has been raised in the society and the legislative body continued to focus on improving the legal system, boosting supervision activities and deciding the important issues of the country.
For his part, President of Lao NA’s Planning, Finance and Audit Committee Vilayvong Boutdakham noted that the working visit to Vietnam aimed to realise the cooperation agreement betweenthe two parliaments.
The two sides have shared their experiences in planning the budget collection policy as well as the system of policies and laws related to finance, tax and insurance, he added.
The Lao guest wished for the upcoming effective cooperation between the Lao NA’s Planning, Finance and Audit Committeeand Vietnamese NA’s Finance and Budget Committee.
