At noon on July 28, 2023, President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan held a banquet at the Jinniu Hotel in Chengdu, Sichuan Province to welcome the international distinguished guests attending the opening ceremony of the 31st Summer Universiade in Chengdu.
They are: Indonesian President Widodo and his wife Iliana, Mauritanian President Gazwani, Burundi President Ndayishmiye, Guyana President Ali, Georgian Prime Minister Garibashvili and FISU Acting President Ed.
Xi Jinping and Peng Liyuan cordially shook hands with the distinguished guests one by one, exchanged greetings and posed for pictures.
50 teenagers and children dressed in local ethnic minority costumes sang the Sichuan folk song “The Sun Rises Blissfully” and warmly welcomed distinguished guests from all over the world.
