Kenes Rakishev: with the Support of the President, Kazakhstan Becomes a Leader in World Sports

Following the results of the completed World Boxing Championship among men 2023, Kazakhstan confirmed its leading position in this sport.

Having won 4 gold and one silver medal, the country took 2nd place in the team standings at the end of the championship.
The President of the Kazakhstan Boxing Federation, Kenes Rakishev, thanked the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, for the support of this sport, and also expressed gratitude to all the fans of the country.

In turn, President Tokayev, immediately after the final, publicly noted the achievements of the athletes: “”I watched with interest the final fights at the World Boxing Championship. I sincerely congratulate Sanzhar Tashkenbay, Makhmud Sabyrkhan, Aslanbek Shymbergenov, Nurbek Oralbay, who showed top-level boxing, showed the will to win and true patriotism,”,” the President of Kazakhstan wrote on the social network Twitter.

It is worth noting that the national teams of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have indeed shown very good results in boxing over the past few years. The Kazakhs won first place at the Asian Championships held in Jordan in 2022. And the national team of Uzbekistan was the second. At the current men’s championship, the hosts of the tournament collected the most medals, and the Kazakh team came second with a confident margin, overtaking Russia, Cuba, France and other countries participating under the auspices of the IBA.

Perhaps the personal support of the head of the federation, Kenes Rakishev, played an important role. So, in addition to active participation in the formation of the team headquarters and the preparation of the national team, he invests additional funds in the development of boxing and encouraging the best athletes in the country. To the official awards of the tournament, Rakishev adds a personal prize fund, which this year amounted to $ 100,000 for each of the winners.

“In the near future, we will have to go through pre-qualification for the 2024 Olympics, having performed well at the Asian Games in China. I hope that our athletes will not lose motivation and will once again confirm the successes achieved in recent years,” commented Mr. Rakishev.
